The Rico SJ2508 is a cold press slow juicer (also called a masticating juicer). Its 300W copper-wound DC motor turns a bladeless spiral auger at just 46 RPM. It presses the juice out slowly instead of cutting at high speed, so you get juice with less heat, less foam and less oxidation. It also makes smoothies, almond milk and coconut milk, and its ice cream attachment turns frozen fruit into a creamy dessert with no added sugar. Made by Rico, the Indian brand that introduced the mixer grinder in India in 1965.

What can I juice?

• Fruits: orange, mosambi and pomegranate (peeled), apple, pear, watermelon, mango and peach (seeds removed), pineapple, berries.
• Vegetables: carrot, beetroot, ginger, celery, cucumber, cut into pieces.
• Do not use: amla, sugarcane, grains and other very hard items.

How to make ice cream

1. Cut soft fruit such as banana, mango or strawberry into small pieces and freeze for at least 24 hours.
2. Take it out about 5 minutes before use.
3. Fit the ice cream filter and feed the frozen fruit slowly, with a little milk or yogurt to taste.
4. The ice cream comes out of the pulp outlet.

Is the Rico SJ2508 a cold press juicer?

Yes. It presses fruit and vegetables at 46 RPM instead of cutting them at high speed, so the juice stays cooler and fresher.

What is the difference between a slow juicer and a normal juicer?

A normal (centrifugal) juicer spins blades at thousands of RPM, which adds heat and foam. The SJ2508 presses at about 46 RPM, giving thicker, fresher juice with less noise.

Can it make almond milk or coconut milk?

Yes. You can make fresh almond milk and coconut milk at home.

Can it make ice cream?

Yes. Fit the ice cream filter and feed frozen fruit with a little milk or yogurt.

How noisy is it?

About 60 dB – quiet enough for early mornings.

Does it drip after juicing?

Close the anti-drip lever on the spout to stop drips when you move the cup.

Can I put whole fruits in?

The 75 mm chute takes small whole fruits and large pieces. Cut bigger fruit to fit, remove hard seeds and stones, and peel citrus and pomegranate.

How long can I run it at one time?

Up to 20 minutes, then let it rest for 30 minutes.

What do I do if food gets stuck?

Switch to O, then to REV for a few seconds, then ON again. Do not switch directly from ON to REV.

How do I clean it?

Unplug it and take the parts off – no tools needed. The parts are dishwasher safe, or wash them with the brush in the box. Wipe the motor base with a dry cloth; never put it in water.

What warranty do I get?
